Description

This large oval silver bowl was made in the 1930s.
Rare design with hours and hours of specialist handwork. The full body is decorated with a repousse design and hammered style silver.
Provenance: Bought at an antique shop in The Hague.

Weight: 327.0 grams or approx. 10.51 ounces.
Length: 27 centimeter or approx. 11.81 inches.
Width: 19 centimeter or approx. 7.48 inches.
Height: 4.0 centimeter or approx. 1.57 inches.
Condition: The bowl is in a good condition with regular traces of careful use.
The name Djokja / Yogya silver originates from the town name of Djokjakarta, Java, Indonesia.
Between 1930 and 1970, a lot of silver was made in Kota Gede, a town next to Djokjakarta.
All Djokja silver are hand made and therefore every piece is unique.
