Small Antique Cambodian Silver Gourd/Melon/Pumpkin Shape Betel Box

DESCRIPTION:
Small, antique Cambodian silver gourd/melon/pumpkin shaped Betel box. This was collected by a US government employee stationed in Cambodia in the early 1960s. It is not hallmarked that I can see, but tests as high grade silver - probably .800 silver. Weight is 43.9 grams. I don't know the age, but would guess early 1900s.
It includes detailed repousse designs on the raised lobes of the "melon", an intricate filigree flower on top and is capped with a little twisted stem and leaf finial. It measures about 2 1/4" in diameter and 1 3/4" tall.
The box is in very good condition with it's original patina - I have not polished it. Free Domestic Shipping!
