It is made of a pale pastel mint green color handloom sari silk fabric with a woven silver metallic Indian boteh paisley pattern design. This opulent Orientalism Indian sari silk Chinese cheongsam dress has a fitted hourglass style, with side slit skirt vents, a high mandarin collar, short sleeves, a side zipper with snap closures along the neckline and is fully lined in a mint green color silk fabric. Manchu women early on wore a loose fitting one-piece dress which were called "qipao", transforming later to the more form fitting style "Mandarin Gown" popular in Shanghai during the 1920s-1940s becoming more influenced by Western fashion and fabrics. The dress measures 42 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 26 inch waist, 36 inch hips, 15 inch back and a 14 inch neck. It is in excellent condition.
